How might we re-imag­ine a new approach and organ­i­sa­tion­al mod­el for inter­na­tion­al civ­il soci­ety sol­i­dar­i­ty and action?

How might we enable and main­stream a jus­tice and sol­i­dar­i­ty-based approach that changes how INGOs think/measure their suc­cess and shifts pow­er to local activists and CSOs?

The ‘Reverse Call for Pro­pos­als’ is reimag­in­ing the fun­da­men­tal way in which local civ­il soci­ety actors secure fund­ing, by putting them in the dri­ving seat for change. Local organ­i­sa­tions involved in the pro­to­type will issue a ‘call for pro­pos­als’ to inter­na­tion­al actors to pro­vide sup­port for local­ly-deter­mined endeav­ours: either fund­ing or in-kind. Local actors then vet the poten­tial of inter­na­tion­al actors — Fun­ders and INGOs — to sup­port them and meet their local needs. Sup­port can be tech­ni­cal, admin­is­tra­tive, exper­tise, knowl­edge, advo­ca­cy or more. The ‘Reverse Call’ puts local civ­il soci­ety in con­trol.
