Case Study: Pledge Accountability and Learning Mechanism

The Pledge for Change Accountability and Learning Mechanism (PALM) is an innovative and decolonised framework for mutual accountability and collaborative learning. This approach shifts the accountability equation towards the needs of local and national civil society organisations (CSOs), rather than international non-governmental organisations (INGOs) and donors. The innovation aims to hold INGOs accountable to the local and national civil society organisations they support or partner with, in addition to wider civil society. The success of the model is demonstrated through Majority World actors taking the lead in defining accountability measures and processes.
